Chunxiao Li
Chunxiao is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, University of Oxford, working on the MRC Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) in Exposome Immunology. She was a Jardine Cambridge Scholar from 2018 to 2022 and completed her PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Professor Nick Wareham. During her PhD, she investigated the role of dietary factors in the development of type 2 diabetes by integrating multi-omics, electronic health records, and data from large international cohort studies, while leading large-scale international collaborative research. She subsequently worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Metabolic Science Epidemiology, University of Cambridge, where she expanded her research to investigate the interplay between genetic susceptibility and modifiable behavioural factors in cardiometabolic disease risk in a Middle Eastern population in the United Arab Emirates. Between 2023 and 2026, she was a Junior Research Fellow and Governing Body Fellow at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge. Her current research focuses on understanding how genes and the exposome jointly influence the development of immune-related and metabolic diseases by integrating multi-omics data from large-scale global biobanks, with the aim of advancing disease understanding, precision prevention, and population health.
